SCR Ticketing Company, trading as TravelMaster™, is committed to ensuring that we protect and respect the privacy of our customers at all times.

This Policy tells you how we collect and use your data and what you can expect us to do with that data.

We’ll provide information on why we’re able to process your data, what purpose we are processing your data for, your rights around your data, how long we will store your data for, who else will have access to your data across all areas of our business.

This policy is designed to be simple to access and understand and will cover why and how we use your data when you contact us, when you purchase a product and when you use a product. If you have difficulty understanding  any part of this policy please get in touch.

General Information

SCR Ticketing Company Limited (TravelMaster) is the Data Controller for the personal information that we process.

We are responsible for ensuring your privacy across our internal data processing activities and any activities where we have contracted a data processor.

We are not the Data Controller for personal information that you may be required to supply to our any of our retailers and you should read their Privacy Policy before using their services.

We frequently review all our Privacy Notices to ensure we are protecting your data correctly and complying with all current guidance and best practice.

Your Data & Your Rights

You provide most of the information that we process about you.

We, and our third party Data Processors where applicable, will collect your information when:

  • You contact us with an enquiry or a complaint via one of the Contact Us channels.
  • You contact us to receive a sales quote.
  • You supply your information, via the MyTSY platform, to order a personalised smart card or annual product.
  • You use your TravelMaster smartcard where this is registered to you.
  • You represent one of our Participants or Stakeholders and are superscribed to our Stakeholder eNewsletter.
  • You use our website and it records your IP Address or other data detailing your visit.

We may also receive personal information indirectly:

  • From our retailers in the performance of their contractual retail activities.
  • From our Partners in the form of forwarded complaints or enquiries to enable resolution for you.

When you Contact Us TravelMaster will  collect standard contact information from you (Name, Phone number, Address or e-mail address) in order for us to investigate and provide a response to your enquiry or complaint.

When you Order a smart card or register a smart Card TravelMaster will collect general contact information from you alongside your date of birth (Inclusive of Passport Number, Driving License Number and details on your birth certificate), payment details and a photograph.

When you use your product we will record the time date and service on which you travelled but this data is not linked to you unless combined with other resources; such as your card being registered.

TravelMaster does not collect from you any data listed under the Special Categories of Personal Data and as such we will not collect, or process, your data relating to:

  • race;
  • ethnic origin;
  • politics;
  • religion;
  • trade union membership;
  • genetics;
  • biometrics (where used for ID purposes);
  • health;
  • sex life; or
  • sexual orientation.

If you contact us and your enquiry, through your own decision, contains data under any of the above Special Categories then we will amend and remove it from your correspondence when it is recorded.


TravelMaster does not share your information with any third party for the purpose of direct marketing.

Where you purchase one of our products from a third party retailer then they may use your information for direct marketing – we would advise you review their Privacy Notices prior to making a purchase.

Data Processors

TravelMaster uses Data Processors for certain contracted services, primarily around the ordering and production of our smart cards.

We have contracts in place with these Data Processors and they can not do anything with your data unless we have instructed them to do so. These data processors cannot share your information with any third party and will retain ti securely for the period we tell them.

Legal Obligation

In some circumstances we are legally required to share your information. For example this may be in response to a Court Order or in the prevention and detection of crime.  Where we are obliged to share you information we will satisfy ourselves that this is the case and documented our decision.

Sharing Information Outside of the EEA

TravelMaster has little need to share your information outside of the European Economic Area but in instances where we are to do so we will ensure that the destination organisation is in a jurisdiction with robust data protection standards.

Under current Data Protection legislation you have a range of rights when it comes to us processing your data that we are required to inform you of and comply with.

Your Right of Access

You have the right to ask us what information we have about you (commonly known as a ‘Subject Access Request’) where you can request a copy of all your information that we hold. There are some exemptions to this, for example where the information contains another individuals personal data.

We will provide a copy of your information free of charge but we may apply a fee for subsequent copies or where we deem the request to be ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’. Where we refuse to supply your information or apply a administrative charge you have the right to complain about this decision via the Information Commissioners Office.

To request copies of your data we would suggest you write or e-mail us with details to ensure you, and us, have a record of your request being made.

Your right to rectification

You have the right to r ask us to rectify information held about you that you believe to be inaccurate and also have the right to ask us to complete information that you believe is incomplete.

Your right to erasure

You have the right to request that we erase your information from our systems in certain circumstances. Please note that there are some circumstances, where are legally obliged to keep your data, that we may refuse such a request.

Your right to restriction of processing

You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your data where you do not want us to delete that data.

This may be where you wish to challenge the accuracy of the data held, where we have processed the data unlawfully or where you wish for us to retain the data so you may bring legal claims against us.

Your right to object to processing

Where we rely on the ‘Legitimate Interest’ basis for the processing of your data you may contact us to object to our processing your data in this way. Where we agree with your objection we will stop processing your data immediately.

Your right to data portability

Where you have provided your information to us with your consent then you can request that we transfer this data to another organisation.

TravelMaster takes its duties and obligations around protecting your privacy and your information incredibly seriously and we aim to do so with the utmost care and attention.

How & Why we Process Your Information

Purpose and legal basis for processing

When you contact us with an enquiry or complaint we collect information, including your personal data, so that we can investigate and respond to your issue.

The legal basis we rely on to process your personal data is Article 6(1)(f) ‘Legitimate Interests’ where we believe that you have an expectation of us processing your data to resolve your issue.

If your enquiry contains any information relating to a Special Category of Data then we will redact this prior to processing.

What we need and why we need it

When you contact us we need enough information about your issue to investigate it and provide a response to it.

We also need contact details (Phone Number, e-mail address or postal address) in order for us to contact you with our response.

What we do with it

We record your enquiry or complaint in our Customer Relationship Management System to enable our team to investigate, escalate and respond to it.

Your enquiry will be recorded alongside our response and is held to enable us to monitor our customer service standards and in the event you complain about the service provided.
