TravelMaster is delighted to announce a special event CityWide travel ticket to accompany the Sheffield Lunar Chinese New Year celebrations across the city. Built on TravelMaster’s popular CityWide brand the ticket provides unlimited* bus and tram travel across Sheffield, including to Meadowhall where there are also events taking place.
The special ticket is priced at £15 for three days of travel to use on your days of choosing between the Lunar New Year on Wednesday 29 January and Monday 3 February 2025. The ticket is only available as a mobile ticket through the TravelMaster app. A new category of tickets called ‘Special Tickets’ has been added to the app which will include this ticket.
John Henshall, TravelMaster General Manager said on the special ticket:
“We are delighted to be able to roll out this special ticket to encourage more people in Sheffield to use public transport. This ticket provides excellent value for money at just £5 a day for travel on both the bus and tram in the city.”
“Since introducing mobile tickets on the TravelMaster back in November [2024], it has opened up a whole new range of possibilities including for special events. It was fantastic to get the support of the TravelMaster Board to provide the new ticket.”
TravelMaster is a partnership of public transport operators in the region and this ticket has been provided as a new commercial offering for this event.
Once purchased from the TravelMaster app, activate it from the mobile inbox on each day you want to use the ticket. When boarding the bus or tram press the show button and present the ticket to the driver/conductor. Tickets can be scanned on tram but bus scanning isn’t quite available yet but expected to be available in the coming months as we work with operators and their ticket machine manufacturers to enable this.
